Your Contribution

The NAV CENTRE is seeking dynamic individuals to fill full-time and part-time roles of Security Guard for a new opportunity in Cornwall, Ontario. The guards will be employed by Securitas and work at the NAV CENTRE.

This is a great opportunity for Police Foundations students and those interested in front line protection services. Retired individuals also free to apply.

Qualifications:

  • Candidates must have an Ontario Security Guard licence and CPR Certificate.
  • Applicants must be 18 years of age and possess a valid Drivers Licence.
  • Canadian Citizenship.
  • Basic Computer skills are expected.
  • Provide a Security Check and Vulnerable Sector clearance.
  • Must be available for a variety of eight (8) hour shift work, days, evenings and nights with possibility of weekends.
  • French speaking and/or other languages are not mandatory, but are an asset.
  • Uniforms provided.

Food & Beverage Supervisor

Your Contribution

Overall Responsibilities:

To supervise the food and beverage evening operations which includes the Jet Set Pub and/or other Outlets.  Is responsible for Manager on Duty coverage as required.

Essential Functions:

  1. Effectively manage, direct and coordinate Pub and/or other Outlet operations.
  2. Strong focus on guest satisfaction/experience, driving revenues.
  3. Direct involvement in the coordination of any events scheduled in the outlets.
  4. Responsible for check settlement in micros upon completion of events to promote efficient billing.
  5. Full-fill the role of “MOD” – Manager on Duty.
  6. Be present on the floor to observe staff and ensure customers are satisfied with service.
  7. Review and maintain the standard operating procedures for all frontline staff.
  8. Schedule to promote highest productivity and customer service.
  9. Complete regular training and evaluation of staff to ensure professionalism and great guest experience.
  10. Quality control of products and presentations.
  11. Quarterly inventory of china, glass, flatware, linen, chairs, tables and display items.
  12. Attend BEO meetings to obtain function/event information to educate and prepare staff.
  13. Conduct regular departmental meetings to improve service / seek employee feedback.
  14. Be aware and ensure compliance with all current Health & Safety and licensing policies and legislation.
  15. Perform all duties and responsibilities in a timely and efficient manner in accordance with established company policies and procedures to achieve the overall objectives of this position.
  16. Maintain a favorable working relationship with all other company employees to foster and promote a cooperative and harmonious working climate.
  17. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
  18. Maintains key control of operations and responsible for activities to ensure opening, closing and daily procedures are completed.

Full Time Lead Cook

The NAV CENTRE is seeking dynamic individuals to fill the role of Lead Cook in Cornwall, Ontario.

Job Qualifications:

Experience/Knowledge:

Culinary Certification.

3-5 years of related cooking experience.

Food Safety Certification.

Essential Functions:

  1. Provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times.
  2. Positive demeanor and approach.
  3. Delegate station responsibilities to the second cooks and prep cooks.
  4. Lead by example when assigning, training or completing tasks
  5. Be able to answer any recipe and production questions   
  6. Review “Count Report” and base production needs accordingly        
  7. Complete “Prep & Pull” lists and pull items as needed   
  8. Responsible for quality assurance, by ensuring safe, quality food products are maintained at all times
  9. Implements and maintains all standards set by Sodexo policy
  10. Follows menus, recipes, methods and specifications as directed by corporate policy and Executive Chef
  11. Maintain menu and food quality established by Executive Chef
  12. Follows all HACCP procedures & regulations for food quality and safety
  13. Constantly strives to upgrade the food quality and presentation and establish the necessary controls that will assure a high level of quality and consistency
  14. Follows up to ensure that all food outlets, buffets, action stations, and food displays are maintained for creativity, quality, cleanliness and food safety
  15. Responsible for ensuring storing procedures are properly followed
  16. Controls food waste and ensures unused food is returned to the storeroom on a daily basis
  17. Enforces “clean as you go” work habits
  18. Monitors, and encourages safe work standards and alerts supervisors on duty of any dangerous or unsafe places in the work area
  19. Enforces proper uniform procedures according to Sodexo standards
  20. May take inventory, and/or enter inventory into the production.
  21. Attends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training.
  22. Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
  23. Participates in regular safety meetings, safety training and hazard assessments.
  24. Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.

Manage the daily functions of the kitchen with the supervision of the sous chef and the Executive Chef.

Qualifications:

2-3 years cooking experience in similar environment.

Essential Functions:

  1. Provide the highest quality of service to customers at all times
  2. Be able to answer any recipe and production questions   
  3. Assures safe, quality food products are maintained at all times
  4. Implements and maintains all standards set by Sodexo-NAV CENTRE policy
  5. Produces and maintains acceptable food quality control for all food products
  6. Follows menus, recipes, methods and specifications as directed by corporate policy and Executive Chef
  7. Maintain menu and food quality up to standards set by the Executive Chef
  8. Follows the HACCP procedures for food quality and safety
  9. Constantly strives to upgrade the food quality and presentation and establish the necessary controls that will assure a high level of quality and consistency
  10. Controls food waste and insures unused food is returned to the storeroom on a daily basis
  11. Enforces “clean as you go” work habits
  12. Clean and sanitize work stations and equipment and must follow all Sodexo, client and regulatory rules and procedures.
  13. Produces small to large batch goods using advanced and full range of classical cooking techniques.
  14. Select recipes per menu cycle, prepare bakery items, receive inventory, move and lift foodstuffs and supplies and prepare meals for customers requiring special diets.
  15. Attends training programs (classroom and virtual) as designated.
  16. Attends all allergy and foodborne illness in-service training.
  17. Complies with all company safety and risk management policies and procedures.
  18. Reports all accidents and injuries in a timely manner.
  19. May perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by Sous Chef and Executive Chef.
